Why do I write about the Military?

Why the Military simply because that is my roots my life's beginning and my life's journey. I had the most amazing childhood growing up around service personnel & living in Army Married Quarters. They are memories I cherish and  carry with me always. They are the friendships I still hold dear. From my Fathers service, to mine, to my husbands, my life has been enveloped and developed from a Military scaffold. From there to working with Veterans and the openness they present to me which allows me to constantly learn from them. But also allow me to grow in how I care for them. That cannot be explained or written down it simply just is.

Sometimes I think, military life is a different world, or universe, hard to explain, hard to put into words. And sometimes it feels like I speak a different language to others but in the company of Soldiers & Veterans there is an common unspoken dialect that we all just get. I cannot explain how it works or the level of understanding that is just there. Whether spoken or through sarcasm its just there, easily understood. This is why I write about the Military, I know them and I understand them. I know what it is like to be away from the people you love who are overseas. I know what it is like to see them struggle and readjust when they come home. I know what it is like to see them adjust to civilian life. Here in these writings if it makes it easier for one then it is worth it.

My writings are just that from my experience they do not and should not replace professional interventions provided for Military Service members. Please where needed always seek out the support of your organisations support service that is provided for you.
